NEWBURGH NEWS SPECIAL.

                                                                                                17th March 2010.

Dear Resident,

Round O Quarry Second Planning Application.

When we contacted residents in October 2009 about the application for an extension of the recycling facility, we indicated that there would be a second application for an extension of the quarrying and restoration permission until 2020.

This application has now been lodged with Lancashire County Council.

At the next Parish Council Meeting on Wednesday, 24th March we will consider our response. Our approach will again concentrate on the aspect of the Quarry that most concerns residents, namely that of traffic. We expect to object to the application as it stands, again primarily, because of concerns about traffic routing.

Please take the opportunity to make a response as a local resident, if you think it appropriate. You can view the relevant information as:

Application No: 08/10/0241 on the County Council’s website www.lancashire.gov.uk under Development Management and respond to devcon@lancashire.gov.uk or by post to the Environment Directorate, Development Management Group, PO Box 100, County Hall, Preston. PR1 0LD.

It is also on the Borough Council website www.westlancs.gov.uk/planning as Application No: 2010/0241/CMA. It would be helpful to respond there as well, via the website.

The crucial response is direct to the County Council, without delay.

The timescale is short.

Jacky Citarella,

Chair,

Newburgh Parish Council.
