Planning Application 2012/1317/COU

At its meeting on Thursday 28 March Newburgh Parish Council reviewed the above planning application which seeks approval for a caravan and camping site to be established at Forest View Nurseries in Back Lane.  Full details of the application are available in the Planning Section of the West Lancashire Borough Council website www.westlancs.gov.uk (Click on “Search Planning Applications” and enter the reference number above) In brief, it seeks approval for up to 25 static caravans, an area for touring caravans and tents, and a shower block

The Parish Council meeting was attended by a number of residents who had been alerted by the WLBC consultation process and who wished to raise concerns about the proposal. These concerns centred on the impact on the Green Belt, the impact on traffic, the difficult access routes along Back Lane, the noise impact, the infrastructure impact and the possible future of the site.

In view of the potential impact on the village the Council has decided to hold a public meeting so that all residents will have the opportunity to discuss the proposal.  The surveyor acting as agent for the applicant will attend the meeting.

The meeting will be held at 7pm on Thursday 11 April in Newburgh School.

If you wish to submit a comment on the proposal, this may be done via the WLBC website , by email to plan.apps@westlancs.gov.uk or in writing to John Harrison, Borough Planner, PO Box 16, 52 Derby Street, Ormskirk, West Lancashire, L39 2DF.  Submissions must be received by 18 April.

The Parish Council will submit its comments on the proposal to WLBC following the public meeting.
